Steps to Starting a ProTeam Program
The Pre-Collegiate staff is eager to work with schools and districts interested in learning more about the Teacher Cadet Program. Below is an overview of what to expect when you reach out to learn more about this program.
Contact the Director of Pre-Collegiate Programs: Meredith Dantzler at dantzlerm@cerra.org or 864-209-9045.
What to Expect:
Phase 1: Identify school and/or district vision for ProTeam course implementation. During this phase, the instructor will be identified, the course structure will be established, and the implementation date will be established.
Phase 2: Develop an implementation timeline for your school and/or district. This timeline will include steps for recruiting students for the course, working with school counselors to ensure the course code has been added for student registration, and the College Partnership will be established.
Phase 3: The ProTeam instructor will register for new instructor training and connect with the College Partner. The ProTeam instructor will actively recruit students and they will begin registering for the course.
Phase 4: The ProTeam instructor will implement the course. They will be provided with support from both the Pre-Collegiate team, the College Partner, and the ProTeam Liaisons.
Cost:
SC Public School instructors are not charged any fees for access to the curriculum and training materials. CERRA will provide lunch during both days of training, but the school or district is responsible for covering the cost of the attendee's travel. CERRA maintains partnerships with area hotels to secure the lowest rates available.
If you are a non-SC instructor and wish to attend training at Winthrop University with the CERRA staff, the cost to attend a curriculum training session is $500 per person. This fee includes the first year’s access to the digital curriculum, all training materials, and lunch during both days of training. All travel arrangements are the responsibility of each participant; however, CERRA maintains partnerships with area hotels to secure the lowest available rates.
If you are a SC private school, the cost for training is $350 per person. This fee includes access to the digital curriculum, all training materials, and lunch during both days of training.
If you would like to host an on-site training at your school or district, please reach out to Meredith Dantzler at dantzlerm@cerra.org or 864-209-9045 and she will assist you with this process.
