Education: Carrie earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Upper Elementary Education from Lander University. She went on to earn a second master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University. She is certified to teach middle-level mathematics, is National Board Certified in Early Adolescence Mathematics, and is endorsed to teach gifted and talented students.

Experience: Carrie has been an educator since January of 2000. Over the years, various professional training sessions have allowed her to deepen her understanding of curriculum and instruction. She completed a two-year training program on Numeracy Leadership offered by the South Carolina State Department of Education. She has also served as a 4.0 evaluator, new teacher mentor, mentor trainer, and 4.0 trainer. Additionally, Carrie had the opportunity to actively participate in the state's teacher leadership initiative, Collective Leadership. She was selected by the South Carolina State Department of Education as a research task support document writer and appointed as team lead. She also completed the state’s School of Leadership Foundation Cohort and an eight-part series on Cognitive Coaching.

Carrie spent 21 years as a middle-level educator teaching all subjects, predominantly mathematics. Most recently, Carrie served as the district-wide Induction Coach for Anderson School District Five. She was honored as the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year at Robert Anderson Middle School and as the 2020-2021 District Teacher of the Year for Anderson School District Five.
 
CERRA: On August 1, 2024, Carrie joined CERRA as the new Service Program Facilitator, where she works with Mentoring and Induction, Teacher Leadership, and National Board Certification programs.
