South Carolina Teacher Expo

The South Carolina Expo for Teacher Recruitment focuses on meeting South Carolina's short-term recruitment needs. The 21st annual job fair will be held in Columbia, South Carolina, June 1, 2009. The Expo is co-sponsored by CERRA, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators - Personnel Division (SCASA), the State Department of Education's Division of Educator Quality and Leadership and the State Department of Education's Office of Teacher Certification.
CERRA assumed responsibility for all state and national publicity, including media contacts and the answering of mail and telephone inquiries. During the Expo, CERRA staff members sponsor an on-site booth where teachers are encouraged to submit an application through the South Carolina Teacher Application System, a statewide online job application accessible by all 85 school districts in the state. Staff members provide general staff support for the recruitment fair and publish the Expo Teacher Vacancy list.
More than 60 South Carolina school districts attended the 2008 Expo seeking to fill vacancies from among the more than 1,300 teachers representing 39 states who attended the only statewide teacher recruitment fair in South Carolina. Nearly half of the participants came from out-of-state.
