SC Educators to Explore New Teaching Avenues Public Charter School Teachers Fair. Educators from across South Carolina will explore new career opportunities at the South Carolina Public Charter School Teacher Recruitment Fair sponsored by the SC Association of Public People who have considered teaching, but don’t have the credentials are encouraged to attend. Charter Schools in SC have the flexibility to hire 25% of non-certified faculty members. There will be information about PACE, alternative accreditation, and how the SC Charter Act allows for a percentage of educators to be noncertified. This is a great opportunity for mid-career professionals or retired professionals looking for a second career. This is a free event for all interested in educating South Carolina’s students.

Greenville County Schools Shining Stars Teacher Recruitment Event
When: Friday, April 9, 2010 from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Bi-Lo Center, downtown Greenville
Greenville County Schools invites highly qualified teachers seeking August 2010 employment to attend the annual Shining Stars Teacher Recruitment event in Greenville, SC. On Friday, April 9th, participants are invited to the BI-LO Center to network and interview with principals and district staff. Greenville County is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With more than 68,000 students and 5,000 teachers, Greenville County Schools is the 51st largest school district in the USA and the largest in South Carolina. All school facilities are new or renovated within the last five years and classrooms have the most current technology. Pre-registration for the event is required and can be accessed at www.greenville.k12.sc.us. At the time of registration, participants are required to establish an on-line application through CERRA at www.winthrop.edu/scteach .

Cost: $15 if you register before June 1. On-site registration will cost $20, payable only by cash or certified check.
